| Information About the Project | MMK – ATAKAŞ Dörtyol Plant is an investment of Russian MMK Group and Turkish ATAKAŞ Group each with 50% shares. Design and Engineering Services of this plant in all engineering disciplines was carried out by PROKON. The plant is located in Hatay Dörtyol with an annual capacity of 2.500.000 tons of hot-rolled steel, 900.000 tons of cold-rolled steel, 800.000 tons of galvanized steel and 400.000 tons of painted steel.
The plant is considered to be the largest single lot investment in Iron and Steel Sector in the history of Turkey with an investment value of 2 Billion USD. The investment has attracted worldwide attention and was awarded the top prize by the Euromoney Magazine, in investment and finance category within Europe and Middle East. The facility will provide 2500 direct and 4000 indirect employment and enable a saving in national economy of around 1.5 Billion USD, annually. PROKON has provided design services for the following structures within the plant;
The project covers basic design and multi discipline detail design services for 217.500 m2 steel and reinforced concrete structures, 4.700 m long underground galleries, 2.200 m long pipe bridges and roads, infrastructure lines. |
